Tom Day is nothing if not amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a song by him and not been blown away. Flemington is no exception to this, it is a slightly different sound to what you might be used to from Tom, but that is by no means a bad thing. Listen and as always, Enjoy.
Melbourne’s Dylan Hill has started off a new project with “a “really” good friend” and damn do I love it. Dylan and the mystery (I’m just going to assume) woman have two songs by the names of Industrial Love and Endless Nightmare and together they make up 6 minutes of downtempo electronic music with a healthy dosing of organic sounds spread through. This is a duo to look out for. Enjoy.
If you don’t know who Josh Furey is, he’s a ‘multi-genre producer’ that happens to also run Nocturne Records. What this actually means is that when you turn on a Josh Furey records you are going to hear an amalgamation of Josh‘s influences, with downtempo, electronica, hip hop, trip hop and more, all working in perfect unison. You can actually hear all of these influences in a mix that he recently put together, 46 minutes of “pure instrumental magic” for U Call That Love?. So basically check below from the Blue Blood Oranges mix, give the title track for Petals a spin (with free download), and have a go at the whole EP. And of course I need to give a shout out to U Call That Love? for the heads up on this one. Enjoy.
The second release through Plastik Sound UK is this lovely EP from Zaika. Morning Way / Missing You / What They Are, as its title suggests is a 3 track EP and it contains some amazing downtempo and chillstep music all for the low cost of nothing. More than worth your time. Enjoy.
Skywide‘s new track is the lovely City Lights, another downtempo track to add to the 14 year old’s slowly growing catalogue. Enjoy.
21 year old Londoner Catching Flies fka Rainman, has released a wonderfully chilled EP of warm electronic hip hop production. The 4 tracks of The Stars has more than Catching Flies on my radar, I think this EP is going to be on repeat for some time now, at least until he graces us with another release. Enjoy.
