Weekly Match is a weekly series highlighting a song, album, artist etc that doesn’t necessarily fit in with the usual posting on the MatchMusik. This lets me sift through my music collection each week & pull something out that may be a little older, or that slipped through the cracks, and bring it back for all of you to enjoy.
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, so I thought I’d do something a little different. Earlier this year Fabrizio Paterlini released the aptly named The Art Of The Piano, an album that is composed entirely of, as it’s title suggests, piano. The eight songs make up some of the most beautifully composed music that I’ve heard this year and has been one that I return to frequently. If you’re that way inclined there are still copies of The Art Of Piano available on vinyl and CD along with music sheets for all of the songs.
The title of the album wants to be my highest tribute to the instrument I love the most, my beloved grand piano. – Fabrizio Parerlini
