Weekly Match #60: Wilsen – Anahita

Standard

Wilsen

Weekly Match is a weekly series highlighting a song, album, artist etc that doesn’t necessarily fit in with the usual posting on the MatchMusik. This lets me sift through my music collection each week & pull something out that may be a little older, or that slipped through the cracks, and bring it back for all of you to enjoy.

I first heard Wilsen through The Wild Honey Pie‘s Buzzsessions (completely full of amazing artists), where she played her debut single and House On A Hill, both of which you can find on her ‘mini-album’. Anahita was the first we heard of Wilsen and as far as 7 minute doses of folk go, this was as good as they come. Turn on Anahita and you’ll have a chance to hear Tamsin Wilson‘s elegant and yet powerful vocal presence pouring emotion across the folk instrumentation that makes up the music of Wilsen; and if you like what you hear then you should lend an ear to Sirens.
