I have a tendency for the first song or album of artists that really catches me to remain forever as favourite. A kind of nostalgia in a way, as I relive those few minutes, or that hour I spent with them and falling for them. Arrange holds a special place as he was my introduction to ambient music, he sparked my love of an entire genre of music; one that forms a huge portion of my musical diet. So for me, even his new material brings with it a certain something special, once I hear his voice, or an inkling of that production that is so characteristically Malcom Lacey I am transported into the album, able to feel and interact with the music that Arrange has painted out for us. Give it a listen and see if it has that same effect. Pick it up on cassette if you’re that way inclined. Enjoy.
