I have been patiently waiting for Beat Culture to release his debut album since late 2012, and every time he puts something out I simultaneously care more and less about that release date. The wait seems more bearable, as every song I’ve heard is of such a high caliber, which of course also makes me incredibly anxious to get my hands and ears on a copy of Forgive. The Drifter/Shibuya single displays this pretty well and is also released as a 7″ vinyl. On Drifter/Shibuya Beat Culture manages to construct an experimental electronic backdrop and surrounding that is also somehow pop infused, with a song each of Psychic Twin and KID A providing some lovely complimenting vocals in the foreground. If you’re after more Beat Culture check out Tokyo Dreamer and more. Enjoy.
